Hi chaps, For some reason, which I cannot understand, I have around half my PC's are contacting the WSUS server but not reporting.
All of the PC's are located on the same site and they are all Win7.
The registry location where the WSUS server configuration is stored is below: You can find more details on how you can use scripts to configure the WSUS settings from the following link: you have made sure that the WSUS settings are configured correctly you can move on to next step.
You need to make sure that the WSUS agent service (Automatic Updates) and BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) are running.
The following Registry settings define the update location for the WSUS Agent: Firstly, check the WSUS log here: C:\Windows\Windows If the Group Policy has been correctly applied, the agent will reflect this and should show the following on consecutive lines during an update: I have seen this setting changed to “0” which simply needs to be changed back to “1”, force a Windows Update and once it has returned a result, issue the update commands “wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow” and “wuauclt /reportnow”.The machines in question are all Windows 7 64-bit and are showing up as reporting to the server whenever they check for updates. var microsoft = microsoft
